Caregiving through Stage 4 Cancer - A friends perspective
This raw & real conversation was recorded in February 2020 and I released it many years later, in June 2024. It is a deep conversation between my beloved friend, Michelle Russi and me about my journey with stage 4 cancer. She was with me when I was literally on the precipice of death, held my hand through the most challenging moments and witnessed my miraculous recovery!
I hope you enjoy this deep dive into a 30+ plus friendship sharing her endless devotion to me through one of the hardest times of my life! Please let me know what you think in the comments, as I would love to hear your thoughts about it! ♥️
This is my write up about it:
A celebration of friendship & of friends who stick around through the toughest of times. 🙌🏽
I am so blessed to have a friend like Michelle! ❤️🔥
Michelle and I have walked many miles together. We became fast friends in our mid twenties through our shared love of the Grateful Dead dancing community, living in Santa Cruz and having cutie pie young toddler boys. ✨💃✨
As our boyz grew up, our friendship grow & evolve in such a natural manner. We stayed close & saw each other often, as I moved around the world & she continued on with her bee loving candlemaker business in Santa Cruz. ✨🐝✨
Michelle was always by my side energetically, even though sometimes the miles were far between us. ♥️
When my health started plummeting in the winter of 2019 and I was referred to Hospice with cancer through out my body, terrified is a great word to describe my state of mind at the time. I had to make a decision about facing my greatest fear: doing chemotherapy. 😱
Michelle was by my side. ❤️🔥
When I was coughing non stop due to cancerous fluid in my lungs, hooked up to an oxygen machine to breath, walking with a cane as my left hip was breaking and in tremendous pain due to cancer in my bones, she flew out to Kaua’i to be with me.
There were times I know that she was not sure if she would ever see me again. It took great courage for her to stand strong by my side through my darkest hour. 🥀
When I decided to do chemo, to save my life, she was with me as through the worst of the chemo hell (it can create great psychological & physical discomfort & pain).
Michelle came out to visit me in Kaua’i SIX times in one year to help me through the shadow journey. What a true friend she is!
Thank you dear Michelle for being such a magnanimous friend over the years. Words cannot express how grateful I am to you! ❤️🔥✨❤️🔥
