Watch ‘An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power’

A decade after AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH brought climate change into the heart of popular culture, comes the riveting and rousing follow-up that shows just how close we are to a real energy revolution. Vice President Al Gore continues his tireless fight traveling around the world training an army of climate champions and influencing international climate policy. Cameras follow him behind the scenes – in moments both private and public, funny and poignant -- as he pursues the inspirational idea that while the stakes have never been higher, the perils of climate change can be overcome with human ingenuity and passion.

The Climate Crisis Is the Battle of Our Time, and We Can Win - Now we need to ask ourselves: Are we really helpless and unwilling to respond to the gravest threat faced by civilization? Is it time, as some have begun to counsel, to despair, surrender and focus on “adapting” to the progressive loss of the conditions that have supported the flourishing of humanity? Are we really moral cowards, easily manipulated into lethargic complacency by the huge continuing effort to deceive us into ignoring what we see with our own eyes?

"Tara was inspired to take action and create her 10 minute short film ‘Honor the Earth’ after seeing the courageous stand that Greta Thunburg was taking against climate change. Greta is mentioned and her picture is featured in the film. This is the website associated with Greta:

Fridays For Future is a movement that began in August 2018, after 15-year-old Greta Thunberg and other young activists sat in front of the Swedish parliament every school day for three weeks, to protest against the lack of action on the climate crisis. She posted what she was doing on Instagram and Twitter and it soon went viral.”

Climate Science Information Center is a centralized place on Facebook for resources from leading climate organizations with facts about climate change, as well as climate science news from reputable outlets and “actionable steps” people can take themselves.

Beyond Debate resolves 50 climate misconceptions in 50 brief and easy-to-read chapters. Complete with over 270 references, Beyond Debate is a must-read whether you're a climate activists, a skeptic, or just a concerned citizen.

Dr. Masri is an air pollution scientist at the University of California, Irvine, and has launched a national grassroots advocacy project called "On the Road for Climate Action," which empowers everyday people to help solve the climate crisis through community outreach and education across all 50 states!

All We Can Save - Provocative and illuminating essays from women at the forefront of the climate movement who are harnessing truth, courage, and solutions to lead humanity forward.

Intermixing essays with poetry and art, this book is both a balm and a guide for knowing and holding what has been done to the world, while bolstering our resolve never to give up on each other or our collective future. We must summon truth, courage, and solutions, to turn away from the brink and toward life-giving possibility. Curated by two climate leaders, this book is a collection and celebration of visionaries who are leading us on a path toward all we can save.

What can you do to fight the climate crisis? As the climate crisis intensifies, scientists and experts agree that systemic change is critical. But while individual efforts alone aren’t enough to reverse global heating, that doesn’t mean there’s nothing we can do.

Global temperature anomalies from 1880 to 2018 - This color-coded map displays a progression of changing global surface temperature anomalies from 1880 through 2018. Higher than normal temperatures are shown in red and lower than normal temperatures are shown in blue. The final frame represents the global temperatures 5-year averaged from 2014 through 2018.

Organizations I Recommend:

The Sierra Club is the most enduring and influential grassroots environmental organization in the United States. Help the Sierra Club keep fighting for Earth's natural resources.

Friends of the Earth fights for a more healthy and just world. Together we speak truth to power and expose those who endanger the health of people and the planet for corporate profit. We organize to build long-term political power and campaign to change the rules of our economic and political systems that create injustice and destroy nature.

Earthjustice is the premier nonprofit public interest environmental law organization. We wield the power of law and the strength of partnership to protect people’s health, to preserve magnificent places and wildlife, to advance clean energy, and to combat climate change.

8 Billion Trees was founded with a simple idea: if people can destroy the Earth, they can also help to rebuild it. At its core, 8 Billion Trees carries out large-scale tree planting and tree conservation operations to fuel positive environmental change and defend habitats for animals, while also caring for displaced and hurt animals by utilizing wildlife sanctuaries and veterinary clinics focused in devastated and deforested areas. Trees May Be Our Only Hope.

Arctic Refuge Defense Campaign - Take Action! The Trump administration and Big Oil are on the attack. They’re racing forward with a plan to drill in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. They are ignoring drilling’s devastating impact on the human rights of the Indigenous Peoples who live and depend on the land they consider sacred, on the millions of birds, fish and wildlife who rely on it, and on America's last great wilderness. We can’t let that happen. Add your name now to demand the long-term protection of the Arctic Refuge.

Arctic Research Foundation (ARF) is a private, non-profit organization creating a new kind of scientific infrastructure for the Canadian Arctic, through our operation of efficient, cutting-edge research vessels and self-powered mobile labs. ARF is the proud host of Arctic Focus, a collaborative, online platform where Arctic explorers, researchers and communities converge to share stories of the Arctic. At Arctic Focus, ARF and its partners share perspectives about the most critical, understudied and unknown regions of the North directly from the people who are on the ground (or at sea!).

Environmental Issues:

The Trump Administration Is Reversing 100 Environmental Rules - Here’s the Full List. In all, a New York Times analysis, based on research from Harvard Law School, Columbia Law School and other sources, counts nearly 70 environmental rules and regulations officially reversed, revoked or otherwise rolled back under Mr. Trump. More than 30 additional rollbacks are still in progress.

15 ways the Trump administration has changed environmental policies - Since the Trump administration took office, it has been fighting what they call an “anti-growth” agenda put in place by the Obama administration. Regulations that required businesses to spend time and money to meet the former administration's environmental standards were swiftly reviewed and, in many cases, rolled back.

Help Save The Bees!

There are countless ways you can help bees thrive. Here are a few of my favorite organizations.

Natural Beekeeping Trust - We encourage attention to the real nature of bees, their nesting preferences, their forage needs and their all-encompassing purpose. We hope to inspire people to live in peace with the bees, be good hosts to them, guard them and grow for them, in all ways imaginable.

HoneyLove is a Los Angeles based 501(c)3 non-profit conservation organization with a mission to protect the honeybees by educating our communities and inspiring new urban beekeepers.

Pollinator Partnership - By becoming a Bee Friendly Farming member, you can help preserve and protect the pollinator populations by implementing positive, incremental changes on your property. BFF helps farmers incorporate affordable, simple, science-based guidelines, like offering nutrition and habitats for bees, and integrated pest management strategies.

Vanishing of the Beesnarrated by Oscar-nominated Ellen Page, explores the world of Colony Collapse Disorder. The film follows commercial beekeepers David Hackenberg and Dave Mendes as they strive to keep their bees healthy and fulfill pollination contracts across the United States. The film explores the struggles they face as the two friends plead their case on Capitol Hill and travel across the Pacific Ocean in the quest to protect their honeybees.

I used bee venom (Apitherapy) as one of my treatments with breast cancer for a period of time and was blessed to cartake two top bar bee hives. I share my experience of using bee venom here: HoneyColony

“I would never have imagined that healing breast cancer would involve stinging myself with live bee venom on a daily basis. Ever since my serious breast cancer diagnosis, it was necessary to make courageous decisions regarding my health. I now consider bees and their venom an integral part of my radical self healing journey.”

Here’s my Interview with Doctor V, the best selling author of ‘Heal Breast Cancer Naturally’ where I discusses some of my treatment protocols including Apitherapy also known as Bee Venom Therapy.

2020: Me, my mother & father. This was around the time we created this webpage. ♥️

Special thanks to my beloved mother, Gail Cheeseman, for her help with this resource list!

I would like to add that my mother was in the last year of her life, when she poured her heart into helping me to create this webpage, in the fall of 2020. She tirelessly helped me research and gave me advice about what to share. This was her last project she worked on, as her health started rapidly declining in the winter of 2021. She sadly passed on November 16, 2021. My father could not live without his Queen Gail and passed on March 22, 2022. 💔

I dedicate this page to my mother and the environmental work she dedicated her life to. Please check out the safari business webpage, Cheeseman’s Ecology Safaris, that my father, Doug Cheeseman and her created in 1980.

Both my father and mother inspired countless people with their environmental zeal and enthusiasm. May their memory live on forever.

May we all care for the Earth as they did, for the sake of future generations.
